About the North Iowa Photo Club
Photo Club photography outing
"Everyone needs beauty as well as bread."
-John Muir
Anyone who likes photography, if you are just starting out or if you are a pro, you are encouraged to come to our meetings and outings! People come from Forest City to Osage to get together. Most of us are now shooting digital with all varieties of digital cameras and cell phone cameras.
This is a great place to come if you:
Meeting Times:
Our meeting time is the 4th Tuesday of each month unless it conflicts with a holiday. We meet from 7 – 9 PM. Visitors and guests are always welcome. Stop in to our next meeting and learn about the club.
Location:
We meet at the Rolling Acres Christian Reformed Church, 340 19th Street S.W. in Mason City, in the big room at the north entrance. [Map]
Meeting Notifications:
We depend on emails for club announcements. Provide your email address and we will add you to our mailing list.
We also share photos and post club notices on our North Iowa Photo Club Facebook Group. Request to be added.
Many of us go places shooting photos from the nearest prairie plot, our backyard, or to the mountains! Founding club president Jack V. says, " I often feel like John Muir, 'The mountains are calling, and I must go.' But I also like to stress appreciating what we have right here. That is why I have really come to love doing prairie photography." [-Jack]
The North Iowa Photo Club is a member of the North Central Camera Club Council (N4C), and club members often participate in conventions.
Voluntary Membership Dues: $20 per year (Jan-Dec ) to support club activities, guest speakers and membership to N4C. You do not need to be a paid member to attend meetings and share photos.
Club members in action (don't let those big lenses scare you away, there are a lot of club members who take awesome photos with point-and-shoot cameras). Click the photos below to view as a slide show:
