Show us your best. Just-for-fun Monthly Photo Contest
The North Iowa Photo Club will hold a monthly just-for-fun online photo contest for club members. The purpose of the contest is to have a friendly challenge to shoot for a theme and to work to improve your photographic craft. The photos can be taken at any time in the previous 12 months. Submissions can be made by email during the month of the contest. Voting will take place online by the club members during the first three weeks of the following month and winners will be announced each month at the club meeting and online.

Contest Rules:
Each month there is a photo contest club members can submit one digital image. The photos must have been taken in the previous 12 months. Image submissions will be posted on the club web site. Submissions can be made by email the month of the contest up until the last day of the month. Voting will take place online by the club members for roughly the first three weeks of the next month. The deadline for voting will be posted for each contest. Members can vote one time for each contest. The winning entries will be announced at the club meeting and posted monthly in the contest winners gallery. Submissions will be by email. The Subject Line of the email message must identify the Month and the contest theme, such as "May 2019 - Spring Flowers contest". The body of the email message must identify the photographer, the title of the photo, the approximate date the photo was taken and the location. Submissions for each contest can be emailed as an attachment. If you have the ability to re-size your images please change it to 800 px in the longest dimension at 72 DPI. If you don't know how to re-size it just send your image as-is and we will re-size it for the web.

The fine print:
The photographer retains the copyright to each photo submission and copyright notices will be posted on the web site along with the photographs. The photographer gives the club permission to post the photograph and the photographer's name on the club website as part of the contest entries or winners gallery. The North Iowa Photo Club will not use the photographs for any other purposes without permission from the photographer. The North Iowa Photo Club will not sell or transfer images to any other party. Images posted on public websites or social media web sites are not secure and and can be copied and reused by anyone who has access to the webpage without the knowledge of the photographer or the club (even though that practice is illegal) . The North Iowa Photo Club and the club officers are not responsible for any unauthorized use beyond the original postings on the club web site.
